I think it's the one with the watermark on it. I remember watching a replay of the match and I saw the area where the watermark is supposed to be are slightly darker than the usual 06/08 starball. So I guess, the darkness is caused by those watermark.

Yup, looks like it aBs-. Special edition UCL starball, maybe ONLY for the final. Also, did some research on my side, and seems that Chels kits for the final supplied by Kitbag does not have the special edition UCL starball, just the regular one. However, am not sure if this is applicable for the earlier MU kits, as I believe ana's and ap's ones are the later ones for sale.

I'm not convinced at all that a 'special edition' watermarked starball was used in the CL Final 2008 in Moscow.
Even the pictures posted by ana quite obviously shows that the starball used are not the watermarked type.
Maybe the shade of the background seemed darker, leading to some of us guessing that perhaps it's because of the printed watermark that rendered a rather darker background than usual.
But let us not forget that on that night the players' kits were rather soaked in sweat/water which would have made the starball's background seem darker than usual. If you have a regular starball applied, try soaking it in water and it is common sense that the background will seem darker as it would become slightly see-through.

Here are some pictures of the night that i cropped up:









The pictures clearly shows that the starballs used in the final are the regular starballs, soaked up in moisture as you would have observed in some of the pics, especially the cropped picture of john terry's famous leg-hugging pose.

Some of the buyers of the Final shirts received their priced possession applied with a watermarked starball, i'd assume that kitbag received a latest batch of starballs meant for the next season (startballs incorporated with watermark design for authenticity), but they did not realize or did not care that it wasn't intended for any other shirts other than next season's CL shirts.

Adding to that, it doesn't make sense for UEFA to introduce a 'special final starball' with the only difference being the slight watermark.
