| dunno why... many brazilian players can't maintain their superb ability when they near or reached their 30s... even the best such as ronaldo, rivaldo and ronaldinho....
but roberto carlos and cafu are exceptions in my opinion...

| its their life style.. they all have screwed up lifestyle. Ronaldo finding ladyboys. ronaldinho late night clubbing... all of them dont take care of themself thats hy they cant maintain the same level of play for very long. Adriano is 1 of them. Those who take care of themself like cafu carlos. juninho all play well into thier 30's. Look at kaka and compare him with ronaldinho 2 years difference but ronaldinho is already dead 2 seasons ago which is the same age kaka is now. Just their lifestlye that effect them. | |

| Now that Kaka' has signed for Real Madrid for a world record transfer fee, is there any more funds for RM to make a bid for C.Ronaldo or is that deal blown out of the water entirely? | |

| In short sylus the answer is No! Florentino Pérez reiterates Real Madrid's interest in Cristiano Ronaldo guardian.co.uk, Tuesday 9 June 2009 13.00 BST - Spoiler:
- Quote :
- Florentino Pérez has reiterated that Kaka is just the first of a number of "great players" he intends to bring to Real Madrid. Kaka completed his move, reported to be worth around €65m (£56m), from Milan last night, and Pérez said he will now work to bring Cristiano Ronaldo, along with several others, to the Bernabéu.
"Kaka is (just) the first signing. I will do everything possible to get Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid," said Pérez, though he went on to insist that: "first we have to speak to Manchester United because the important thing is for us to maintain a good rapport with everyone."
Pérez also hinted at a potential move for the Internazionale striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but he was quick to play down reports that Liverpool's Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso could soon sign for Madrid. "He is a great player but he also plays in a big team and I haven't heard any news that they plan to sell him," said Pérez. "It's obvious (Liverpool manager Rafael) BenÃtez is counting on keeping him. That's normal, he's a good player and it wouldn't be easy to replace him."
Valencia's David Villa has also been suggested as a possible signing. The Spanish newspaper Marca claim Pérez has an agreement in place with Valencia, whose financial position means they are unlikely to reject an offer that comes close to their valuation.

| I was reading the news as well. If Perez does pull another rabbit out of his hat, he's sure to have re-ignited another Glacticos-era. | |

| i really doubt they will purchase another world record fee player so soon. even last time during the galatico era they purchase 1 big money player a season. I doubt that they will be able to get funds, first we have to see some players go. Ronaldo will most prob break the kaka fee or wel cost around it. I think its still too much moeny for RM to buy after getting kaka | |

| Yeah....... actually with that kind of money they can buy 2 class defenders. But I guess that's not important anymore. Maybe revenue is 1st, after Kaka sold a lot of shirts, they would be able to buy any defender that they want. | |

| in his first spell as the president of madrid, florentino perez was critized for not buying defenders. so it's quite unusual if he didnt learn from his mistakes.
not only defenders, buying david beckham and played him to fill claude makelele's role was ridicoulous. even zidane onced quoted saying makelele was the unsung hero and he was actually the most important member of the madrid side that won the UCL during 2001.

| Yup makalele was RM most important player. He protects the back for so well. Well for me i think RM always want to be an attacking team which is why they dont really care much on defence. But as of now their defence is so shit that if they dont buy at least a CB to replace cannavaro they are just going to loose the title again | |

| somehow, i am more relieve at Ronaldo leaving United. He is just playing for himself lately. Rooney can now be at his best with CRon out. At United, they must remember that no one is bigger than United itself...Bring on Ribery, Benzema and Huntelaar...!!! | |
