| you will be taxed too if you shipped to SG, if its above SGD400 don't think they will lower the invoice as they are a running a business you should ask them to send separately | |

| yes you are right ..
but at the same time, if for any (touch-wood) reason the parcel went missing/stolen you can only claim to the amount that was declared ....

| yup subside always accomodate request to lower the invoice value - BUT bear in mind the pros and cons - the con is that, in the event of loss of parcels, subside will only be able to claim the amount declared from insurance is if declare GBP50, then they will only get gbp 50 cos thats the insured amount. What subside will refund you im not sure, since it is at ur request to lower it, not their practice by default.
And keith is right, the Customs may look at the big boxsets with suspicion and proceed to investigate the parcel if its too big. For example, if you send in one big box more than 2 kg and declare it a rm20 gift, though not impossible, they will likely inspect your parcel. Not sure if they are allowed to arbitrarily place a price for tax purposes after that. Maybe aBs_ can shed light?
But anyway, good luck bro.
And if tax, it is 30%. So GBP300 = 90GBP............
and mind you, if they pursue further (and gather evidence of you requesting for lowering the limit to specifically evade customs) that amounts to a criminal offence and liable to criminal sanctins. Just be careful when dealing with these issues and dont take them for granted mate, thats my advice. | |

| hmmm..thx for all the explanation..appreciate it.. DHL said the custom charged by value and not the box size and weight.. i requested to declare 100 pound..hopefully everything willl b alright..sigh.. damn alot of hoo hah | |

| correct mate, but it is the actual value of the goods. Customs nowadays are not that lenient anymore at times. the weight and size is the "visual test" ie if your goods are big and heavy, they may take in up for random inspection. They can do further investigations like check with subside, do a market survey for the actual value of the goods, and see if there are actual acts of deception on the government etc. They have the power to investigate. Of course whether they do or not is a separate matter. even if declare GBP100 also......more than rm500 bro......... we have done all our best to advice ppl to stay within the legal limit, so other thatn that really at your own risk mate. Good luck and sincerely hope u get away with this and bear in mind for next purchase Again i cannot stress this more - it is a criminal offence to intentionally evade tax and there are criminal sanctions applicable, so be warned. | |
