The black box is made of PU and has a matte surface. It took me a long time to apply it using a home iron due it's size area and it is warm peel. For applying the number, I just apply as normal. I think if a heat-press machine is use for application, it would be easier and the result would be much better.
Glad that you're getting a RAFAEL kit too. Actually I've been considering for quite some time who to put, finally decided to put someone that is different from the more famous United's stars and also due to his name is short (only 6 characters). i was wondering.. can we do the same thing for Holland away jersey ? similar to what we use for Holland Away 06-08 i know it'll be difficult for Russia Home/Away jersey, since it's not printed part.. but for Holland away, which the front part is printed, that should be possible right ? subject to availability of the color of the PU material (light blue) maybe you can ask to unisport, wong ?

| But still it would be not too similar, cause the real one not PU box, blank spot there, but when i saw at andreabs for Milan Jersey, its look like PU box and said there its PI jersey
May be someone can confirm this ?

| I believe that the PI shirts have the box 'inked' into the shirt after manufacture. So basically it they manufacture a standard shirt with full striped on the back and then the shirts that require the boxes they ink the black square on to the shirt with black dye, hence the colour is not the same as the original shirt and that you can see the difference. That is the concept Adidas use with real madrid siemens sponsor logo on PI shirts and it is also the same concept used by Adidas for Newcastle PI European shirts. I have the PI one for 2002-03 and that is the case and you can see that the colour again does not blend in. | |

| The reason I wouldn't think the PI ones is a PU box is that it will be very uncomfortable for the players when wearing it during a match. The box is quite big and carry some of weight at the back especially during matches when they sweat. | |

| Hmm getting more confusing, so which one is reasonable answer for this, from wongwkp reason true aslo, if they put PU BOX, would burden the player. | |

| I think what Ian said was correct already..
It depends on how the kits are made. Maybe adidas had a different approach, where they tweaked the existing PI kit they have..
Nike does it differently. They produce player issue ones were already made as is by a different factory with the replica ones. Hence the design would already be as it is, without the need to add any extra PU box or layer to cover the back of the jersey (to meet UEFA's ruling).
For example, Barca's light blue away kit last season.. the replica one is made in Indonesia, while the PI one is made in Portugal. 2 different factories, so there is no need to add extra PU layer or what...

Nope.. there were 2 versions of the player issue kit. One is the normal player issue kit.. everything the same lah including the 50th anniversary embroidery etc etc.. Another version is the player issue kit for UCL. On the back of the jersey there is a plain square area for the player's number and the embroidery around the Barca crest is different.. got only the 2 leaves embroidered onto it but no wordings.. This one, I saw once.. is made in portugal.

Plain square.. not a diy added layer... was made as is by the factory, which is why it was made in portugal I guess

Like Adidas, they only make small box for the number, while Nike's "box" is bigger.. Example, AC milan like Bro Wong posted, they black box is mainly for number while Celtic, the back of the jersey is plain mesh. I hope Im not confusing u...
