| Here's my latest arrival today - Liverpool 2007-08 Third Champions League non-sponsored match issued player shirt of Momo Sissko Momo was neither named in the starting eleven nor subs bench in the CL fixture against OM group stage away leg match played in France (owing to the French by-laws "Loi Evin" *). However, the kit man prepared 4 shirts for each player registered with the club for every single fixture. Hence the arrival of the aforesaid Momo shirt. Actually I got hold of the short sleeved Momo spare shirt too last month... But I am more keen on collecting long sleeved shirts and thus I hunt for this long sleeved to replace the short sleeved for my collection. *: Loi Evin is the French alcohol policy law passed in 1991 by Claude Evin. Previous to Loi Evin, French advertising laws discriminated against non-French producers. However, Scotch whisky producers challenged France in the European Court of Justice and won. France was condemned and required to change the law in 1980 but did not produce satisfactory legislation until 1991, with the enactment of Loi Evin, which affected both alcohol and tobacco policies.

| Michael, I notice the 5x BoH looks slightly lighter in colour than the one shown on the players. Is the patch in Light Blue or was it in Navy Blue.. ? | |

Well, being frank I dislike the flooding of plain formotion stocks and it kills the hobby of genuine match shirts collectors. I won't pick an equal sign between genuine match issued shirts and the knock-ups plain kits though they may appear identical. What I want to say is that, the black kits were not (YET maybe) released as plain knock-ups. Even if it happens one day, you can never be 100% sure about player sizes - that means, those people who add back names, numbers & might easily get the players' shirts in wrong sizes.

I get your point Michael.. In fact there are some cases where some people misuse this by selling "fake" match worn kits. They can simply obtain the player issue formotion jersey, decorate it as it is player match worn and then sell it in ebay... It was raised before in this forum. One of our 'expert' match worn collectors, shakey @ GrecianBabe noticed it and has easily educated some newbies here how to simply know that it's fake. As we all know, genuine match worn kits have special blank areas on the back but some fakers did a mistake by selling the formotion kit but the back of the jersey is not plain as per requirement by UEFA for UCL matches. I really hate these kind of people. We love collecting jerseys but don't misuse the knowledge and skills that we have for personal profit. I know for you yourself, you are also against some fakers who try to sell match worn GERRARD 8 UCL Final 2005.

| with so many "match worn shirts" over the internet now. Can you recommend any reliable source of a genuine match worn shirts? Your regular supplier or seller perhaps? for me a PL shirt is just another PL shirt. but if the shirt comes with Gerrard's sweat and dirt from the pitch that would be priceless!! | |

| These are numerous sources which are entrusted:
Colin Wright: http://www.lfcshirtcollector.com Simon Shakeshaft (a.k.a. Shakey): http://www.footballmatchshirts.co.uk Greg Coyne: http://www.matchwornshirts.com Gus Puente: http://www.mws-spain.com Omar Mahmoud: http://www.anfield-relics.com Emmet Murphy: http://www.irelandshirts.com
Of course I DO have some private & secret supplies who sourced the shirts directly from people at Melwood and Anfield. These suppliers won't be named here.
Always remember NOT to bid any of those Liverpool so-called match worn / player shirts from the HK ebay sellers. Many of the so-called big-Carlsberg player shirts are 100% dodgy DIY.

| So here's a new addition again. 2007-08 Liverpool Home no-Carlsberg formotion commercial released player shirt - Note here I won't be putting an equal sign between this commercial version with the possible forthcoming genuine match issued / worn shirts. Climacool replica shirt: stitched Adidas motif Commercial player shirt: transfer plastic heat-ironed Adidas motif Climacool replica shirt: stitched Adidas 3 stripes Commercial player shirt: transfer plastic heat-ironed 3 stripes Climacool replica shirt: Stitched golden Liverbird in bigger size Commercial player shirt: transfer plastic heat-ironed smaller Liverbird Direct vertical view comparison The so-called distinctive feature - FORMOTION tag on the commercial released player shirt | |

| Only the Adidas motif and 3 stripes on shoulders are made of transfer-plastic layer. The club crest retains embroidered. | |

just curious, are the non sponsored home kits sold in the online store formotion kits as well or this IS the one from the anfield stores? Hi mate, the comercial release "formotion player shirts" are not available from the UK - Liverbird clubstores don't have them. Liverpoolfc.tv online shop doesn't have it too. They are directly and officially released by Adidas distributors mainly in the Asia market. The one shown by me above is the non-sponsored version, which is supposed to be "not-for-sale" as Adidas hasn't finished the production steps completely - yet to get the transfer Carlsberg sponsor ironed back in the Adidas factories. These non-sponsored shirts were wrongly distributed to the shops in my town. They got the warning from Adidas NOT TO SELL THEM COMMERCIALLY. But not many shops listen to this warning and do the front-dealing.

Actually I reckon totally less than 100 pieces has been sold by shops during the past two days. It's rumoured that Adidas may raise legal actions / penalization for those shops which front-deal in these non-sponsored formotion kits, which are NOT supposed to be sold publicly. Of course, sooner or later, Adidas will release the commercial player version formotion shirts back with Carlsberg on them, but only in short sleeved.

| New additions during the past 2 weeks. 1979-1981 Liverpool Away HITACHI Player Shirt (Tery McDermott's number 10 match shirt, autographed by King Kenny Dalglish in the front side) Curator's verdict: This is a replacement to my earlier Alan Kennedy number 3 player shirt of the same style. The McDermott shirt has a better condition (brigther red) HITACHI sponsor logo. In fact, the depletion of shirt of this style is quite terrific. Take a look at the Anfield Museum's displayed match shirt - the HITACHI sponsor has completely decolourized and you can only see a shadow! | |
