| Wow, nice Italy Toni home kit. Anyway, this Italy Toni kit cannot be able to attach on the World Cup Champion patch on the jersey, because this is the Euro 2008 type name and number printed style. Before the World Cup Champion patch was introduced, the front number for Italy home kit is printed that high, so there will be no space for putting the World Cup Champion patch, even if you do apply on it, the patch will be too high as well. Look weird! I saw some seller try to tend to sell of their old italy pre-printed kit by applying the patch and put in on ebay. So, don't tend to buy that, really look weird. That is why all these pre-printed jersey with high front number is getting cheaper, as you can see Subside, Kitbag and some other major store do try to sell it cheap now.
However, mostly this 07/09 away kit is more expensive than the home kit, I believe only in Malaysia, we do sell the home kit more expensive than the away kit. I surfed through a lot of the major and minor store, and ebay, away kit is surely more expensive than the home kit. The away kit for Euro 2008 type style is that the front number is printed on the right chest. After the World Cup Champion patch introduced, the front number is printed on the center of the chest.

| erm, all along the Italy away front number is printed on the right of the chest when the patch is introduced, the patch is just placed on the kit around the same level as the Puma logo. | |

| It's ok as both ways are correct. Italy used the WC patch on the right chest for the WC aulifier with Cyprus and for the Ireland away WC qualifier they used it in the centre so both ways are correct | |

| treble_1999 is correct! the WC patch was placed on the center of the away kit during the world cup qualifying match, Cyprus vs Italy! which means if you have the Euro 08 italy away, you can actually applied the WC patch on it but provided the name & number does match with the world cup qualifying match ie. pirlo used no.21 for euro 08 but this game (cyprus vs italy) he used no. 10!

| Wow...that's a bit confusing. The Pirlo away sold at ALI has the number 21 & the front number is placed on the chest. That justifies why they are selling the Italy jerseys cheap! | |

| Yeah! I mislook the jersey against the Ireland because I still haven't got that Italy jersey yet.
Anyway, FIFA new rules stated that in the major tournament or competitive matches the starting eleven should use the number from 1-11, so if you got Pirlo in No. 21, then that is for the Euro 2008 or maybe used in friendly matches if he really plays with it.
Yes, against Cyprus (WCQ) and New Zealand (friendly before the Confederation Cup), Italy placed the number on the center and the patch on the right chest. Against Ireland (WCQ), the number is on the right chest, and the patch in on the centre. By the way, during the game against New Zealand, the starting eleven are not compulsory to take the number from 1 to 11, because it is friendly.
By the way, I noticed that the long sleeves match issue version has modify a little bit on the end sleeves during the game against the Sweden (friendly). There was fabrics sewn on the end sleeves for both sleeves just like the collar. See this link:
http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/xPggYHrT_a1/International+Friendly+Match+Italy+v+Sweden/zJCYL1xn38V/Giampaolo+Pazzini
The previous version used against other teams like Bulgaria and etc has no such fabric on the end sleeves (for long sleeves version only). See the link, which consists several pictures, click the one that can show the closest look on the end sleeves:

| 1-11, sounds like what England has been doing all the while. Then tough luck to players like Henry(12), Ballack(13), Pirlo(21) who have their favourite number to stick to. | |

I don't think it is compulsory 1-11 for the starting lineup, just that all 18 squad members have to wear 1-18 in WC qualifiers. Australia's Mark Bresciano wore 18 from the start in all the qualifiers he participated in, Bresciano was also affected in that he usually wears 23. Another example would be Henry 12.
