Cure For My Fetish

Finally, I have some time to post the cure towards my growing fetish for Manchester United jerseys. Started off with a single kit (02-04 Home), and below are the results of poisons from my frequent visits to the old forum, up to now.

The one you have there is the first and second production batch of the newton heath 3rd kit. This kit was used for 3 seasons, from 1992 to 1995. During 1992-1993 and 1993-1994 season, the jersey used was this one, hence you can see at the club crest the navy ship is red in colour and the MANCHESTER UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB wordings are in white colour.

Beginning in 1993-1994 season, United introduced a new club crest where the navy ship is yellow and the wordings MANCHESTER UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB are in yellow colour instead of white. The 1992-1994 home kit and the 1994-1996 home kit itself bears the different club crests.

I have the very rare 3rd manufactured batch of the newton heath kit:



As you can see, the club crest is different. It is similar to the black kungfu kit (sharp viewcam). It was used temporarily for half the season during 1994-1995 season before it was replaced by the blue white third kit:



The blue white third kit was launched on early 1995 and was firstly used against Sheffield United away at Bramall Lane in the Fa Cup 5th Round.. I remembered that match and thanks tu Man United magazine for the photos.. and also the controversy it caused (united launching another new kit.. ) and also Cantona's marvelous goal (he chipped the ball and it went in goal beating the poor Simon Tracey in goal)... Strong memories I have there.. hehe..

I might buy the newton heath with the old club crest in the future... hehehe.. Damn rare item..

Thanks bro for the detailed info. Didn't quite noticed any difference in the club crest, even though I frequently refer o your blog site before buying anything. But now I do see the difference!

Yeah, eBay is such a sweet poison. A period of one and a half month into this hobby in 'active' mode has burnt quite a hole in my pocket. Holding back my horses for at least a month, and will only start to peek into eBay again after that!

Yeah, it's worth every single cent, as the jersey condition is superb as well, only a few clicks here and there.

My next target would be the Cantona's kung-fu kick jersey. *PANCUT*!!!
