| Latest arrival on 10/08/2010.... Liverpool 2009-2010 Away Match Issued Player Shirt of Jamie Carragher - domestic competition version with big Carlsberg sponsorship logo This is the last episode of genuine player shirts for domestic matches adopting big Carlsberg sponsor. This prevailing feature has been followed by Liverpool from season 1993-1994 till 2009-2010, with a drop-out break for seasons 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. Featured Jamie Carragher wearing exactly the same kind of short sleeved EPL away phantom shirt against Manchester United in season 2009-2010. The shirt I have in possession was bought from a reputational UK match shirts seller which comes with a lifetime guarantee COA. The shirt was sold to me as match issued shirt instead of actually match worn. | |

| Long time no kits....here's a minor addition. In the summer of 2003, Liverpool set for pre-season Asia Tour against Thailand National XI (24th July 2003) and Hong Kong XI (27th July 2003). During this tour, Liverpool issued one-off polo shirts for players / staff with the special one-off embroidery. Note the polo shirt as worn by our former chairman David Moores. Liverpool 2003 Asia Tour Player / Staff Issued Polo Shirt - this was never released for sale to the general public. The crest of the Polo Shirt bears the special embroidered Liverbird, inscribed "Asia Tour, L.F.C., 2003". | |

| Only national teams' techfit shirts have an "X" on the back.
All club teams' techfit player shirts, no matter the actual match worn / issued ones or the commercial box sets DO NOT have an "X" on the back.
If you look at Liverpool's video clips of this 2010-2011 season, you will NEVER find out players' shirts with that "X" on the back.

| It seems like only English league teams like Liverpool and Chelsea that doesn't have it, I know for a fact bayern's shirt also has the "x" on their shirts. | |

Well, I always regard the box-set TECHFIT shirt as commercial release player spec. shirt only. It never equates actual player shirt. Just like the commercial release formotion home and away shirts from season 2008-09, they have small Carlsberg and formotion spec., but some details are actually different from genuine match shirts. They are manufactured with spottable differences.

| Liverpool 2007 UEFA Champions Final match supplied spare shirt of Luis Garcia Curator's verdict: Luis Garcia was badly injured in January 2007 after the League Cup knockout and not eligible to recover within 6 months then. He was not named in the squad for the 523 UCL Final in 2007, but the Liverpool kitman did prepare shirts for him along with other non-playing players (this was the same case when I got a Luis Garcia match supplied spare third 2006-2007 CL shirt from the Nou Camp semi final against Barca, a shirt swapped by Liverpool kitman to the Barca staff). Only discrete shirts were swapped at spot in the Athens Final between Liverpool & AC Milan players / staff, then these shirts went into hands of reputable AC Milan shirts dealers. The remaining portion of Liverpool CL Final shirts were despatched back to Liverpool together with the squad and locked up. Strangely nearly all these shirts were GONE when 2007-2008 season started. Even now the Liverpool Museum is only displaying a commemorative UCL Final 2007 replica in the display cabinet. This Luis Garcia match spare shirt was one of the few pieces swapped away to the AC Milan staff and eventually I got him of it 3 years after the said UCL Final. | |

| The 2007 UCL Final shirts were stolen!! from Melwood during the close season Michael, so i have been reliably informed. If you see one from the playing squad on the night, just be aware that Liverpool FC would like to know where it has come from to!!
I see Sascha in Germany had a Garcia, which he had before the Final!!

| On 27th May 1981, Liverpool won a 1-0 tie against Real Madrid in the European Cup Final played in Paris. It was the third time Eruopean championship within five consecutive seasons. The actual match worn shirt from that night is rare as hen's teeth. One of them is now displayed in the LFC Museum as shown. The shirt is a one-off production kit with air-tex structure. Liverpool 1981 European Cup Final Umbro Official Replica Shirt Meanwhile Liverpool did release commemorative replica shirt under UMBRO era back then (not the case for European Cup Final 1977 and 1978). This 1981-released official replica shirt retains features of both replicas & player shirts. In one sense this shirt has the typical texture of the typical 1977-1982 home strip (unlike the actual match worn shirt with air-tex texture). In another sense, both the Umbro motif and Liverbird are fully embroidered into the fabric like actual match shirts. Liverpool FC released retrospective version of this European Cup Final 1981 shirt in recent years under the club's own branded garment. However, in my opinion, the 1981-released commemorative replica shirt is closer to the actual match shirt than the modern retro. | |
